Nine Tries is an author-owned, author-operated publishing company. Founded in 2024, we specialise in high-quality, low-cost kids’ content. Our stories are bursting with good, old-fashioned fun! We celebrate things like courage, caring, and character. Our FrontBack books feature two-stories-in-one, which doubles both the joy and the value for our readers. Utilising original writing and ethically sourced generative images, our aim is to unlock imagination2 for everyone, everywhere.
Founder
Dr T.W.S. Hunt founded Nine Tries after completing his doctorate in History from Oxford. Before that he earned a masters in Political Thought from Cambridge. The author of two non-fiction books, he turned to children’s literature shortly after the birth of his twins. Believing in the potential of an author-owned, author-operated publishing company, he founded Nine Tries in order to share his stories with everyone, everywhere. An expert in child education, Dr Hunt can be hired for speaking events such as school assemblies. He likewise offers coaching services to aspiring and early-career writers, covering topics from composition and publication to writing for a living.

Submissions
Nine Tries is open to submissions from authors and illustrators. We’re a small, one-man-band, so the likelihood we’ll accept your submission is slim. That said, we do offer above-average royalty rates and we’re keen to partner on the perfect project. So, do send us your pitch. As we don’t have submission guidelines, we ask you to keep it brief and to wow us.
